Dear Parishioners,

In the life of a priest it is a gift to be assigned to a great parish. Such experiences become filled with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. One is considered lucky to be in such a place. It is almost unheard of to return to such confines years later. Imagine my surprise (as well as yours) when I found out that I was transferred “home” to St. Charles Borromeo. Even as I return as a priest, the past two years almost seem like they never happened. The spirit of this parish and most of the faces remain the same. I would like to show my appreciation to the parish family of St. Charles Borromeo for being welcomed back so warmly. And so, as Fall is upon us, we are once again reunited to work in the Lord’s vineyard, proclaiming the Gospel as His Church. It has always been the goal of my priesthood to help each and every one of us to recognize the tremendous graces God showers down upon us every single day and how it is only fitting for us to give our entire lives back in return, and even that gift is not enough. This self-gift can manifest itself in a myriad of ways, but in a age that glorifies personal advancement over the common good, this journey to grow in holiness can be difficult. It is up to us to be an example of what a life of faith truly means- a life of witness and of worship; a life of service that is rooted in prayer and ultimately in the source and summit of all grace and the defining characteristic of what it means to be Catholic- the Eucharist. It is my hope that we can assist each other on this journey and by doing so transform the world we live into the place that it should be. I will try to the best of my abilities to serve the People of God in any way that I can. If I can be of service to you, please do not hesitate to ask. Once again, it is always good to be back home!
