Liturgy and Worship

Altar Servers assist and serve the needs of the priest or presider at liturgical celebrations, including Sunday Mass, weddings, funerals and other special occasions. Boys or girls who have received their First Holy Communion and completed the third grade are welcome to become Altar Servers and will be trained. Contact:  Fr. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered for preschoolers through 5th graders during the 9:00 a.m. Mass. No sign ups are required.  When the Deacon asks for the children to line up, two leaders take the children out to hear the Word of God in age-appropriate language.  The children are brought back to their parents during the Offertory.  Volunteers to lead the children’s liturgy of the word are welcome. Church Art and Environment The Church Art and Environment ministry people create an appropriate atmosphere for liturgical functions and seasons by decorating the church and the chapel. If you like to decorate, are creative with decorations and flowers, or want to help with any aspect of this, your help is always appreciated. Eucharistic Ministers
distribute the Precious Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and certain other liturgical celebrations, and take it to those who are ill or unable to come to Mass. They may also help prepare the credence table for the Liturgy of the Eucharist if a deacon is not present.  If you would like to be a Eucharistic Minister, see Fr. Training Opportunity:

Training under the Diocesan School of Liturgy is held at different locations around the Diocese. These classes are required for certification to be an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. Candidates must be approved by their pastor and register with the School of Liturgy at 856-583-2901. The parish will pay for your registration. Click below for more information.

Funeral Committee The function of the funeral committee is to prepare for the Funeral Mass and assist the priest during Mass. It also guides those family members reading and presenting gifts. Lectors are readers and bearers of God's word, who assist in the liturgical celebration, and so take on a special office within the Christian community. Lectors are given a responsibility in the service of the faith, which is rooted in the word of God. High school age boys and girls interested in becoming Lectors must be over 14 and Confirmed. Music Ministry provides the music at all Masses and various liturgies. Within this ministry there are various groups made up of volunteers who share their talent by singing or playing a musical instrument. The Adult Choir regularly plays at the 11:00 a.m. Mass on Sundays. Other groups of musicians and singers including the Children's Choir alternate serving at different weekend Masses.  Volunteers welcome. Technology Ministry Volunteers operate the laptop for the monitors at all Masses and various liturgies inside the main church. Members of this ministry are responsible for the operation of the laptop during the weekend liturgies and special masses & events that are occurring inside the Church. Any registered parishioner who is knowledgeable in the operation of a laptop and PowerPoint is a good candidate for this ministry. You may be scheduled at least once a month depending on availability for each Mass. Training will be provided. Ushers welcome worshippers to Mass and other large liturgical celebrations. They collect monetary offerings, hand out bulletins, and coordinate the presentation of the gifts during and after Mass.  They also maintain the coordinated flow of people for Communion and help to seat people.
