Affinity Program

posted Feb 13, 2012 6:27 AM by Music Director

Shortly before Christmas, we published information regarding an exciting, FREE way to support our parish.  It’s called The Affinity Program, sponsored byTD Bank.  The program is open to all account holders and costs absolutely nothing except a few minutes to enroll.  Here’s how the program works:

If you have a savings, checking, money market, CD or any other type of account at TD, the bank will DONATE a percentage of your total investments to St. Charles Borromeo Parish!  The donation does NOT come from your account(s), you pay nothing to enroll, and the parish receives no information whatsoever on your accounts.  It is all strictly confidential and perfectly legal.  It is TD Bank’s way of appreciating and supporting worthy non-profits like churches who give so much to the communities they serve.  Isn’t that fantastic?

In the first year of its inception at my previous parish, the Church of the Assumption in Galloway Township, the parish earned over $6,000. Last year, that figure doubled to over $12,000!  That’s free money, folks! That’s a lot of bills paid, programs and missions supported, and supplies purchased!

So what are you waiting for?  Only a tiny number of parishioners have enrolled so far, and I’m kind of disappointed by that.  We need a certain amount of account-holders to enroll before the bank can begin accruing the donation.

If time or memory is a problem, representatives from one of our local TD branches will be here next weekend at all Masses to further explain the program and distribute forms for enrolling.  All you need is your account number(s).  Fill out a form, give it to the representative or bring it to your TD branch and the bank will do the rest.

Trust me, this is an extraordinary program, and we would be fools not to take advantage of TD’s generosity.  Remember Jesus’ parable of the servants entrusted with their master’s wealth (Luke 19:11-27).  You certainly want your money to work for you; here’s a way it can also work for your parish community.

Thank you, TD Bank, and may God bless your owners, stockholders, managers and employees for what you give back to the communities you serve!

On another note, who do you like in the Super Bowl?  Or maybe the better question is, who really cares??

GO FLYERS AND SIXERS!!

In His Love,

Fr. Mike

CD's About Your Faith

Great CD’s are available in the Gathering Space behind the altar in the church. They are just $3 each or 7 for $20! Here is just one of those that are available:

The Hidden Power of Forgiveness - Jeff Cavins

Jeff Cavins unmasks the trap of unforgiveness that prevents so many from living in the freedom of God’s peace and halts spiritual progress.  He explains with clarity how forgiveness frees not only the one who is forgiven, but the forgiver.  The importance of this is shown in Christ’s words, “As you forgive others, so I will forgive you.” Matt. 6:14.  Includes free bonus segment from Anger and Forgiveness by Deacon Dr. Bob McDonald.

“This brilliantly exposes Satan’s tactic to keep us at odds with one another through unforgiveness and shows our great need to forgive and be forgiven!” Consuelo - Wichita, KS

“Forgiveness is SO needed in our world today.  This inspires me to act on my good intentions to forgive others and myself.”  Charlie - Belews Creek, NC

Project Parish Center - An Update

posted Mar 23, 2011 5:04 AM by Michael Ciocco

Volunteer workers are coming every day to help. The conversion from a family residence to a Parish Center is really taking shape. Many parishioners have taken on this Project with gusto and they are seeing the results of their work. Those who can’t physically help are providing materials and professional services. There is a real sense of excitement and we hope to be able to complete the Project with a target date of June 1. Anyone who would like to join the team or offer supplies should call Bill Hauser, Project manager, at the Parish Center, 856-629-0411.

Our Project Parish Center is being made possible through the donations of our parishioners. There is a low key fund drive to defray the cost of the purchase of the property and the materials that are needed for the renovations. We hope more and more will be willing to pledge $300 over the course of ten months by using the green envelope
in your collection packet. A donation of any size is greatly appreciated and in the future memorial opportunities will be made available.
