MEMORIALS OPPORTUNITY

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

One of the major symbols of Easter is the Paschal Candle. This year we need a new beeswax candle which is five feet in height and three and one half inches in diameter. This candle will be brought into the darkened church at the Easter Vigil and remains in the Sanctuary throughout the Easter Season. During the year it is placed by the Baptismal Font except during Lent when it is removed altogether. Our present candle has burned down therefore we need a new one.
The second memorial opportunity is a polished brass book stand to replace the broken Plexiglas stand that is used at each of the Masses and it holds the Sacramentary containing the prayers which the priest says during Mass.
If anyone is interested in memorializing either of these two items which will adorn the Sanctuary of our church, please call the Parish Center Office at 856-629-0411
