There are some long-overdue thank you’s we owe to some very generous parishioners who have helped us fill some of our spiritual and temporal needs.

First of all, we extend our thanks to Mrs. Pat Pfizer, whose generosity enabled us to install beautiful new doors for our Religious Education Center, and a new tabernacle for the Emmaus Chapel.  This tabernacle enables those who come for private prayer to expose and repose the Blessed Sacrament without removing it from the tabernacle.  This solved the problem of having the exposed Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance on the altar all day with long periods of time in which it was unattended, something expressly forbidden under the Canon Law of the Church.

We thank the Holy Childhood Association for refurbishing the statue of the Infant of Prague which was moved from the Chapel to the Church to accommodate the new tabernacle.  We also thank Mrs. Joanne Farrell for creating the beautiful seasonal vestments that adorn the statue throughout the year.

Returning to the Chapel, we thank Jan and Bill Hauser for donating the beautiful icon of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal that graces the front wall behind the Ambo.  Originally we hoped to move the statue of Our Lady of Fatima from its location in the hallway just outside the chapel to inside, but due to the limitations of space we couldn’t find an appropriate place for it.  That’s when Jan and Bill proposed an icon to be hung on a wall and generously purchased it for us.

Just this week we received another very generous donation from a parishioner who wishes to remain anonymous.  Part of it is going to support the work of our St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Another portion will be used to purchase Automated Emergency Defibrillators (AEDs) for the Church and Sienna Hall.

There are several other parishioners who have been so generous to us over the years who also wish to remain anonymous, and I am deeply grateful to them all.  Likewise, I am grateful for all of you who are so supportive of our mission by generously donating your time, talent, energy, effort, food and money.  We couldn’t be the parish we are without you.  God bless you all for your generosity and kindness!

In His Love,

Fr. Mike
